Students, teachers and parents are encouraged to use the Media
Center to help them "Soar to Academic Excellence." Our
flexible schedule allows students to visit the Media Center
when the need arises.

must be an Additions
volunteer and have completed the paperwork
in order to assist in the Media Center.
Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader
is a reading program to monitor independent reading.
Students will
receive rewards at the end of
the nine weeks if they have reached their goals the teacher has
set for them. There are 3 parts to each child's AR goal:
1. The student must have an average correcto of 80% or higher.
2. The student must reach 100% or greater of their point goal.
3. The student's book level average must be at or above the book level goal set by their teacher.
In order for a student to receive their reward at the end of the nine weeks, all 3 of these goals must be met.
Rewards
Rewards for the end of the nine weeks will be based on how
many nine weeks the students reached their goal. Rewards for the 2008-2009 school year are:
***Students will receive a book and a certificate at the end of the marking period if they have met all 3 of their individual goals (listed above).
****Students who achieve their goals for all 4 marking periods will be invited to have lunch with the principal.
